Sun Cluster 3.0 -- issues trying to add back a node.

Hi Managers,

I am running Sun Cluster 3.0 on 2 x Sunfire 880's cross connected to 2 x
3310's. Uses Solaris Volume Manager for both local mirroring and shared
disksets.

To fix a dead node (long story, not important) I deleted a host from the
shared disk set with the command :

metaset -s ds-prod -d -h v880-1

Now I am trying to bring back this node into the cluster but my attempts
fail with :

v880-2#metaset -s ds-prod -a -h v880-1
metaset: v880-2: medd udp record: RPC: Unable to receive

So I tried to delete the mediator data and recreate it . Same problem.

v880-2#metaset -s ds-prod -d -m v880-1
metaset: v880-2: medd udp record: RPC: Unable to receive

There is no firewall etc and inetd is running on both nodes.

Any ideas as to how I can delete and recreate the mediators and then add the
new node into the cluster ?

Thank you for your time,
-ansh

P.S.
This is a production machine and supports 200 employees and 80K customers,
so its kinda urgent. (And yes I did read the docs and call SUN support --
they are puzzling over it.)
