order of network interfaces at the boot

Hi,

Does anyone how to define the order in which network interfaces are booted?

1)I thought you can do it by changing the order of lines in path_to_inst but
it is not so.

2)How to set primary network interface?

Need this info a lot. I have about 5 interfaces and it is critical to have
them set in the correct order.
