Help!!! I need the format.dat entry for the new
Quantum Viking VK45J05 4.2 GB SCSI drive 80 pin SCA2
(Sun part number is 370-2809)
When I tried to format it in my ULtra 1 running
Solaris 8
it says drive type unknown.
I already looked at the master format.dat (v 2.57)
dated 2003/03/11 17:45:40
maintained by John DiMarco at Univ of Toronto and
searched the Quantum support website to no avail.
I was under the impression that since this drive is
a Sun drive, it should be automatically seen by
Sun's autoconfig format program, but I guess I am
wrong.
