hi
I have an enterprise 3500 and its giving a "bus error"
on executing passwd. Its solaris 8 latest rec.
security cluster, been happening before i applied that
though. Always, not intermittent. Watched a full post
up for hardware errors, nothing showed.
log shows -
Jun 25 11:24:02 machine genunix: [ID 603404
kern.notice] NOTICE: core_log: passwd[688] core
dumped: /var/corefiles/passwd.688

Checked corefile for "bus" and shows -
%s %s: Password database busy. Try again later.
Authentication token lock busy

Copied the pam.conf across from another server (same
o/s and patches, different type of machine without any
problem) and no different.
Rebooted no change.
Any ideas ? Not using NIS.
