groupdel not acting as expected?

We're trying to use the groupdel command to delete groups from the
/etc/group file, but it's just not acting as it should. We're using
Solaris 2.6. When we issue the command, it returns that there's no group
by that name - but that group IS in /etc/group.

Is there something obvious we're miossing here?!?!
