NBU 3.4 on Solaris - Protocol Error 146 [OT]

All,

System: Solaris 8 with NBU 3.4
Storage : L3500
Symptoms : Protocol Error 146
Netbackup 3.4 Troubleshooting guide says "Cannot get a bound socket, usually
caused by another process having acquired the port".

We are seeing this error everytime I try to move a tape from a mailslot in
the L3500 into a DLT drive. Incidentally this is only happening on the
bottom two drives which are on a separate SCSI BUS. Had an engineer in all
day looking at this and he is convinced it's a NBU config problem. Eveything
had been working fine up until about 1 week ago.

There are errors in both /var/adm/messages [Stating "Unable to connect to
tldcd on clmbu: Connection refused 146" and bprd logfile : "Childterm:
PID=7452, exit=200"

Has anybody seen this before? Could someone shed some light on this prob?

Thanks in advance
