dtfile sleeping

We recently upgraded our Enterprise 6000 from solaris 2.6 to 9, and since
then /usr/dt/bin/dtfile doesn't work; executing it from the command line
on another machine via ssh it just hangs. I have replaced the executable
file with one I know to work on other Sol9 systems. Looking at the truss
output it looks like dtfile is sleeping in poll() while waiting on a
response from the machine the app is displayed to. ie, dtfile is polling
the connection to <where ever> and is waiting for data to come through...
and no data is coming through. I can run any other cde or X window
application remotely and it displays just fine (dtcalc, xclock, nwadmin
all work).

dtfile -standalone works just fine. If this is a tooltalk problem, why are
all the other xapps working? Anyone have any insight here?
