I am running a new L8 ( with SDLT ) , attached to an E250 , which is running Solaris 8 ( patched
a couple of
weeks ago with the latest Recommended and Security Patches , uname -a shows Generic_108528-21 ) ,
and Veritas Netbackup Datacenter 4.5 with latest patches.
I configured the L8 as a storage unit via the Wizard , and the GUI shows that it is seeing the
Drive , the robotic arm and
the barcode reader.
I am using the pre-printed bar-code labels which came supplied with the L8.
However , in Veritas Netbackup it is not recognising the bar-code labels - I have tried putting
the
labels on both ways up , to no avail. When I do 'Inventory robot' it seess the tape in it's slot
in the
L8 , but shows 'Barcode none'. I can however use the tape to do backups via VNB.
Any ideas on what is wrong here , please ?
