CRITICAL!, /dev/sg empty

Solaris 8, EMC lp8000 fibre cards
 
I had to do some updates which changed alot of device links. In trying to
rebuild them with:
drvconfig
devlinks
disks
these commands are not populating the /dev/sg directory. I can see the
physical disks
through the format command. Please advise.
