HP AutoRAID on a Sun Host is slow under Solaris 8?

Under Solaris 2.6, My HP AutoRAID was just fine and achieving FW speeds 7-10
MB/s sustained. When I migrated to Solaris 8, all seems to have slowed down
significantly. My HBA remained the same, Sun UWDIS/S but I've upgraded to VM
3.2 and VxFS 3.4. Today, I can see access times to my volumes in the
hundreds and sometimes thousands of milleseconds with no errors in my SCSI
bus whatsoever... I've tried several SCSI options, throttling to no avail...
Any clues?

Thanks.
