This situation is occurring on some of my Solaris 8, 108528-19 boxes, and
I'd like to find a solution for the users:
1) client (10.0.0.1)
requests a telnet connection to
vtier (10.20.0.1)
2) client connects successfully to vtier.
client logs in successfully.
3) vtier is (10.20.0.1)
it's merely a 'virtual ip' on
real_server (10.20.0.222)
3) shell that client (10.0.0.1) has,
now needs to obtain the ip address of the vtier (10.20.0.222).
but the commands that are unavailable are
lsof & pfiles
4) using hostname on shell returns the
real_server (10.20.0.222) ip address.
5) we could find a solution using netstat and ps, maybe, IF we can
determine the client's outgoing port from within the current shell
on real_server.
Any ideas?
