I need some advice. We have a HP-UX machine, on which some data needs to be
extracted from tape. This data is backed up to tape with Solstice Backup.
Now, we have a small issue. Can we use the scanner command to rebuild the
indexes from that tape to our own backup server (which also uses Solstice
Backup) so that nwrecover on the HP-UX machine
can restore the data ? I have never done this before, and am also a bit
paranoia that my already existing indexes are damaged or something. Can
somebody confirm that these scanner actions are OK to perform without
loosing or damaging my other indexes ?
