Weird disksuite stuff

I have a 280R with a mirrored root disk, using DiskSuite4.2.1 Due to
the limitations of flash archive. I have a script that replaces my
/etc/system files with one that doesn't have the rootdev set, ceates a
flash archive, then copies the original one back.

The /etc/system files before and afterwards look identical, even to
'diff'. The only problem is that the machine fails to reboot
afterwards, it rebooted OK before I copied around the /etc/system.

The only way back is booting into single user, mounting one of the
disks and editing /etc/vfstab for relace the mirrored root with a
standard s0 entry, and removing the rootdev setting from /etc/system.

This has happened a couple of times now, am I missing something, is
/etc/system getting held somewhere ad I'm messing it up by overwrting
it, or is something else going on..

Thanks,

David
