Open boot-prom w/out Sun Keyboard

I can't seem to get at the Open Boot Prom, to get to the OK command.

I am trying to make a sparcstation 10 usable. I do not have a
monitor. I do not have a keyboard, but I believe I may have to
borrow one. It was upgraded as far as memory, rom, disks, and processor.
It is now running a version 2.25R prom, but I can't seem to access it.

Since an SS10, controlled through the serial port has a pretty low
foot print I intend to make use of this (and one or two) other
machines as servers. I have not pulled the graphics card yet.

What I want is to:
1. get it so I can control it remotely through the serial port using kermit.

2. Install Solaris by downloading the needed to files to a Mac
(running OS X) and configuring it as a tftp server,

3, Then remotely connect and compile and configure away using the
Mac OS X as an X server connected to the X client on the SS10
   Once all is installed.

I have tried to get to the OK prompt by issuing breaks - I have
tried two USB-Serial adaptors and cable set ups. So far both result
in output from the SS10 to the kermit session but no sign I'm
getting input. After scouring what I could find in FAQs (though I'm
hopeful someone will point out to me where I should have found this
one), I am starting to suspect that somehow the 2.25R ROMs I
purchased on eBay, do not respond to the break signal. It is also
possible that the machine is not receiving the break signal, but I
tried pulling the cables out to emulate a break signal and had no
luck.

Please suggest the sanest alternatives, I could borrow a keyboard if
I have to. Tell me how to get a Stop-A (L1-A) signal to this
processor. Is there a reset option that can force it to boot to the
OK prompt? What settings after that? Any suggestion appreciated.

This is what displays after the power on reset:

           SMCC SPARCstation 10/20 UP/MP POST version VRV3.45 (09/11/95)
