Details of how IPMP works

Sun Gurus,

I have a question pertaining to IPMP ( Sun's next generation, advanced
"trunking" software ) ... If I have 1 controller with one network card and
one tape drive, and a 2nd controller with one network card and one tape
drive, and the 2 network cards ( each on separate controllers ) are being
joined together as one logical IP address / Network interface ( via IPMP ),
can you please tell me if IPMP is smart enough to somehow force the traffic
intended for tape drive A down network interface A, and force the traffic
intended for tape drive B down network interface B. Assuming that it is not
smart enough to do make this happen, will the network traffic be received by
one of the 2 network interfaces and then passed to the correct tape drive
via the controller or back plane ?? If anyone has any technical paper on
how IPMP works I would really appreciate it if you could send me a copy.
Please let me know.

Thanks,
