Problem mounting /proc on newly cloned machines

Greetings,

After having cloned a SparcStation/5 to 6 other identical machines, I am
having an issue mounting proc. Mount produces the error message "mount:
Operation not applicable for FSType proc" when issuing the command 'mount
-F proc /proc /proc'. I'm using Solaris 8.

Here is a brief overview of how I cloned the machines:

- Ufsdump on source machine to a NFS server
- 'format' on dest machine to make partitions
- ufsrestore from nfs
- installboot to rebuild bootloader
- edit vsftab to point to new slices, if applicable
- modify /etc/hostname*, /etc/nodename, /etc/hosts
- reboot

The system loads, but I get messages such as 'getexecname() failed' as
proc is not mounting. I do not see these messages, and proc works properly
on the source machine.

Can anyone provide any hints as to where the problem might lie? I'm stuck
on this, I'm afraid. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
