I have a remote machine, im trying to setup jumpstart on it from a shared
cdrom of solaris 8.
On the nfs server that is sharing the cdrom, i tried sharing it and i tried
stopping vold and sharing the cdrom manually.

i keep getting this error when running the jumpstart setup:

root@hostb:/mnt/Solaris_8/Tools# ./setup_install_server
/jumpstart/OS/Solaris_8_2002-02
Verifying target directory...
Calculating the required disk space for the Solaris_8 product
Copying the CD image to disk...
ERROR: Copy of CD image failed
root@hostb:/mnt/Solaris_8/Tools#

here is the mounted cdrom:

root@hostb:/mnt/Solaris_8/Tools# df -k .
Filesystem kbytes used avail capacity Mounted on
hosta:/cdrom 528244 528244 0 100% /mnt
root@hostb:/mnt/Solaris_8/Tools#

root@hosta:/root# share
- /jumpstart ro,anon=0 "Jumpstart Directory"
- /cdrom rw ""
root@hosta:/root# df -k /cdrom
Filesystem kbytes used avail capacity Mounted on
/dev/dsk/c0t6d0s0 528244 528244 0 100% /cdrom
root@hosta:/root#

I have a remote server that i do not have physical access to, when i try to
share a cdrom from one of my local machines so i can run
"setup_install_server" and create a solaris 8

jumpstart server on the remote machine, i get an error.

I think its because i can only mount one slice from the solaris 8 cdrom at
a time on the remote server.

Does anyone know how to setup jumpstart on a machine without a local cdrom?

sorry for the confusing question.

thanx in advance!
