Hi all ,
I have a query regarding Timezone in Solaris.
I have an installed an application on my Solaris which automatically generates a mail for a process completion and sends it to my Microsoft exchange Server.
If the Timezone set is GMT+5 ( for India ) the mail which I receive on Exchange server is 11 hrs ahead of the standard time . i.e. if i send a mail from Solaris machine at 4 pm on 25th May , on my Exchange server the date on the same mail will be 2:30am and 26th May.
But if I set the Timezone as Asia/Calcutta or IST ( which is set using zic command) the mail on my exchange server shows correct date.
Any idea why on setting the timezone as GMT+5 , the time shown is 11 hours ahead??
Rgds
Ritesh
