How to Switch of Password validation on Solaris 8

We use a solaris 8 machine (with NIS) in a mixed UNIX Windows2000
environment. Each user have to synchronize manually his password.
On Solaris and Windows2000 there are diffrent password policies.

Message from Solaris:

passwd(SYSTEM): The first 6 characters of the password
must contain at least two alphabetic characters and at least
one numeric or special character.

The "one numeric or special character" is the problem.

How i can switch off the password validation on solaris 8 ? In
/etc/fefault/passwd there is no parameter to switch off!
