Well this was a real case of one track mind. I was so intent on netcat that I
overlooked
tcpwrappers all together.
Use the right tool for the right job.
I thank the quick responders with tcpwrappers.

Any of you Gurus out there ever use netcat to limit incoming telnets to just
one IP address allowed to telnet into the box.
What I want to do is to only allow IP address say 10.1.1.1 to telnet into
the
box but IP address 10.1.1.2 would be rejected.
