DiskSuite

I've swapped disks similar to your case with
no problem, but I was never mirroring
the
root partition (typically I only mirror '/export/home').

Just my opinion; mirroring the root partition
is more difficult. I avoid it. I've shot myself
in the foot swapping disks around with mirrored
root before; particularly when I swapped in a second a
'new' disk which actually had some Disk Suite
Database Replicas hanging around from some
previous configuration.

What I like to do is partition the disks with
OS stuff only in root; run installboot on the 2nd
disk then do a ufsdump / ufsrestore
of root and var to the second disk while in
single user mode.

My theory is the OS stuff in root doesn't change
often; when it does (like for patches), I run a
script which does the newfs, installboot and
ufsdump / ufsrestore again.

Whatever mirroring I do only on my /export/home
(which has stuff like Oracle db files, etc) that's
changing all the time.
