Ppl:
I have a daily scheme of backup which uses the same
tapes per week in two different dat.
The subject is that today wednesday after reboot the machine,
i4ve noticed that the tapes have been rewound.
I could simply repair it with a "mt" during the startup,
but it4s correct that does this?
[ before reboot ]
machine1-/tmp# mt -f /dev/rmt/0n stat
Vendor 'COMPAQ ' Product 'DLT8000 ' tape drive:
sense key(0x0)= Unit Attention residual= 0 retries= 0
file no= 4 block no= 0
machine1-/tmp# mt -f /dev/rmt/1n stat
Sun DLT7000 tape drive:
sense key(0x0)= Unit Attention residual= 0 retries= 0
file no= 4 block no= 0
[ after reboot ]
machine1-/tmp# mt -f /dev/rmt/0n stat
Vendor 'COMPAQ ' Product 'DLT8000 ' tape drive:
sense key(0x0)= Unit Attention residual= 0 retries= 0
file no= 0 block no= 0
machine1-/tmp# mt -f /dev/rmt/1n stat
