Hi gurus,

i have a sparc ultra 4 running solaris 8. My root disk
has the following partition:

0 root 1.56GB
1 swap 2.00GB
2 backup 16.86Gb
3 unassigned
4 "
5 "
6 "
7 home 13.30GB

my root slice is filling up due to the increasing
size of /var. i like to repartition slice 7 and create
a new partition for /var.

Is this a good idea? can anybody send me good link or
the best methods to go about doin this. i think the
rite method to go about this is to backup,
repartition, restore, remove /var from root slice and
add an entry to the vfstab.

waiting to hear your valuable suggestions.

thank you

ravi
