Hi Managers,
I am trying to connect a qlogic (ISP2100A) based HBA ( PCI to FCAL) on a
280R. running Solaris 5.9.

1) The card is plugged into PCI 1 slot, which is the only 66MHz PCI slot.
2) the other end of the fiber is connected to a A5200 running in split mode.
Plan is to connect 2 280-R's to two halves of the A5200.
3) The A5200 shows no signal on its GBIX.
4) I ran devfsadm -v but no devices were detected

5) prtdiag shows
========================= IO Cards =========================

                         Bus Max
IO Port Bus Freq Bus Dev,
Brd Type ID Side Slot MHz Freq Func State Name
Model
---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- -----
-------------------------------- ----------------------
I/O PCI 8 B 2 33 33 3,0 ok pci108e,1000-pci108e,1000.1

I/O PCI 8 B 2 33 33 3,1 ok SUNW,hme-pci108e,1001
SUNW,qsi-cheerio
I/O PCI 8 A 1 33 66 1,0 ok scsi-pci1077,2100.1077.1.4

The 3rd entry seems to be the qlogic card but the corresp. QLC entries never
show up.

6) I've checked all relavent drivers are installed.

i.e SUNW-
fcp
fcpx
ifp
ifpx
qlc
qlcx
usoc
usocx

If I try to plug in the same card into a e420 instead of the 280, the whole
setup works beautifully.

Only difference I can think of is that the 280 has FC drives internally as
opossed to the 420.

What am I missing ?

Thanks,
-Ansh
