Rather a long Email but if any one can explain where the swap has gone or
how to find it or even if it has gone it would be greatly appreciated.
... I have issues with swap on the box Solaris 2.6 E450. It has 3GB Ram
and running commands such as
# sar -g
# vmstat
show that the system is not paging the page daemon is not active but when
running commands such as swap
# swap -l
swapfile dev swaplo blocks free
/dev/md/dsk/d1 85,1 16 3482144 0
Showing that all of swap is used, additionally the top command shows that
all of swap is used.
But when I run the command with a -s it shows it is available.
# swap -s
total: 2713968k bytes allocated + 143144k reserved = 2857112k used,
1382344k available
I also run the command
# se swap.se
ani_max 217634 ani_resv 217634 ani_free 17876 availrmem 217432
swapfs_minfree 48276
ramres 169156 swap_resv 217634 swap_alloc 199758 swap_avail 169156
swap_free 187032
Misleading data printed by swap -s
1598064 K allocated + 143008 K reserved = 1741072 K used, 1353248 K
available
Corrected labels:
