hi,
we have an oracle 8.1.7 on a sun server Primepower 800 (16 x 562 Mhz)
with vxfs and vxvm. In oracle we use the disk_async_io = true feature.
We get the obove mentioned error message in the oracle alert log which lead
to performance draw backs. From oracle we have been informed that this is
an error when using table spaces on vxfs filesystem with die quick io
module in use.
A solution mentioned ist to disable async io in oracle:
this should be a performance drawback , or does the quick io solution does
the job
on the filesystem level as well? does this combination work at all?
A second solution metioned was to switch to ufs - no journaling ?
is it possible to use disk_async_io = true with quick io and find some
other way
around this problem?
