Solaris 9 - ultra 10 - SUNWffb not installed

Howdy,

I have a "brand new" ultra 10 with a creator 3d
graphics card which I have recently installed solaris
9 on AND applied ALL the patches that qualify for this
hardware and OS.

I am getting a message on the console which states
that the "X server can not be started on device :0"
when /etc/init.d/dtlogin is executed with the start
option. CDE will not start.

I have tried several boot -r which is what a previous
sunmanagers summary stated had worked for solaris 7
but again no joy.

The error msg from /var/dt/Xerrors which states "Error
loading module for /dev/fb" seems to be the key
indication but I don't know what else to try.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Regards,

George...

/var/dt/Xerrors contains the following:

The part number of the origional graphics card is Sun
p/n 5015690045212 -01REV50. I have 2 other graphics
cards which I presume are the same (but are they?) and
the origional. They have NOT been in the machine
(yet).
