FTP backup problem

We have a Windows box that runs proprietory software and only allows ftp
access to the stored files. We need to backup the files using Legatos
networker running on Solaris 8. Is there software that can be used to act
as a gateway between these systems?

additional information:
The only way that our Legato Networker backup software works, is to backup
a Windows drive letter like "C:" or a Unix mount point like "/usr".

I need a utility/program that can talk to the Leitch FTP server, as a FTP
client and on the other side look like a Windows (NT, 2000 or XP) disk
drive, or a Unix mount point.

I have located three (3) products for Windows that will do this, however
because the Leitch FTP server does not support the entire set of FTP
commands they do not work.

They are:
                WebDrive
                Inpro from KnoWare
                XythosClient

I can however use a standard FTP client (Unix, Reflections FTP or Windows
command line) to see the files and copy the files. I can even map to it as a
Windows network folder, but Legato's Networker can not use these methods
(confirmed by Legato support).

I would like you guys and gals to think about this and if you know of
anything that might do the job let me know.
