PowerPath causing problems on Solaris 2.6 and 2.8

I have PowerPath 3.0 installed on Solaris 2.6 and 2.8
machines with two HBAa. The machines are connected
through a fabric to symmetric and clariion boxes. I am
carrying out the following step
1) Provision a symmetrix volume using VolumeLogix
2) Get OS to recognize the volume (using
drvconfig;disks on 2.6 and devfsadm on 2.8). This
works fine. I can see the volume using "fpath
lshostdev"
3) Now I release the same volume and provision it
again (to the same host). This time I cannot see the
volume.

The important thing to note here is that I did not
reconfigure PowerPath to recognize the volume at any
time (since I did not want to use PowerPath for this
volume).

Has anyone else seen this Problem ?
   Thanks,
   DH
