Hi

I was wondering if anyone has successfully attached a M1500
tape system to a sun box. I'm having trouble with my ultra 5 seeing the
tape library.

Here is the set-up:

*ultra 5 running solaris 8
*I have ITI3140UD-VS lsilogic ultra-wide SCSI PCI differential
adapter
(lsilogic says the drivers are included on solaris7 CD, i'm assuming
they are on solaris 8 as well--i did complete solaris 8 install)
*scsi-3 cable connecting M1500 and ultra5

i made the following changes to st.conf for dlt8000

tape-config-list = "QUANTUM DLT8000", "M1500",
"1,0x38,0,0x8639,4,0x84,0x85,0x88
,0x89,3;";

after a boot -r, i don't see anything in /dev/rmt/
then i tried--> touch /reconfigure
                      drvconfig -i st (results in unable to attach
driver: st ERROR)
                      tapes

At the back end of the tape system , i see SCSI/SE/LVD and my HBA seems
to be HVD from the description, do i have the wrong HBA? is this the
problem?

probe-scsi only shows /pci1f,0/pci@1/scsi@2

any help would be appreciated!

Thanks
