umount not unmounting the file system

I need help in unmounting file system.
am trying to unmount a file system (used for some application) on a sun box
running 2.6 which is always reporting that the file system is busy .
the file system is not shared, not a home directory for any user and fuser
doesn't report any users on it.and "lsof" doesn't report any open
files...any help is highly appreciated.
