Solaris font server fonts looking jagged

Hello, I have a PeeCee running Linux RH 7.2, which is functioning as
a X-terminal for the Solaris machines on my network. I have the Linux
machine pointed at one of my Solaris boxes which is running the
fontserver. The display resolution on the PeeCee is 1280x1024.
This arrangement works, however the large fonts in CDE are displayed
very jagged and ulgy-looking on the console of the Linux machine. I've
tried playing around with the color depths and resolution settings for
XFree86 on the Linux box, but it doesn't seem to solve the problem of
the ulgy large fonts. Has anyone encountered and solved this problem
before?
If anyone needs more details about the setup, I can provide them.
Thanks!
