scsiinfo does not return tape drive serial number

I just installed scsiinfo 4.7 on my Solaris 8 (64) server. I cannot seem to get the utility to return the serial number information for any of my DLT7000 or AIT-3 Tape devices. I know this is possible because Netbackup can retrieve this information during use of the device configuration wizard. I would like to query this information outside of Netbackup however.
