DHCP question

Hi,

I have a question about Sun DHCP Server and the Hostname (DHCP code 12).

I want that the DHCP client request a specific hostname in the DISCOVER
message. I have the REQUEST_HOSTNAME=yes in the file /etc/default/dhcpagent
and with snoop I can see that the DISCOVER is correct and includes the
Client Hostname.

That's perfect for DDNS but, the server in the OFFER and ACK reply messages
doesn't include the client hostname, so when the client do a dhcpinfo to
get the hostname, it gets nothing and the hostname is "unknown".

Why the server doesn't include the hostname in the reply to avoid this?
What can I do to get the hostname?

I doesn't want to set it in a fixed mode, I want that the DHCP server send it
to the client, and that the client could inform the server which name it want.

Well... another question... why if I change a parameter in /etc/dhcp/inittab
the tool /usr/sadm/admin/bin/dhcpmgr doesn't get that change? If I say that
leaseTim is SNUMBER32 instead of UNUMBER32, the dhcpmgr doesn't accept this
change so I can't set a -1 as a value for this parameter.

If I perform a fixed assign of a IP to a client (permamnent not dynamic) in
the OFFER I see a leasetim of -1 Why I can't set it manually?

Thanks.
