Printing across the internet with ENCRYPTION

In working in healthcare and impending HIPAA regulations, I have been
asked a question. How can I print to a remote printer queue using the
Internet as the transport medium and have the transmission encrypted. At
first thought, I thought IPSec tunnel. However, this information must be
encrypted from beginning to end meaning no plaintext once it reached the
other network. I then thought about a shell script to scp and then run a
remote lpr command. Any suggestions on how to do this? The platform can
be either Solaris, AIX or Linux.

Thanks
Robert
