Adding an autofs map

I want to add a "/mnt" map to my solaris 8 servers. This map doesn't
exist yet. On my linux systems I can add the map line and execute:

/etc/init.d/autofs reload

and it'll happily and cleanly reload its maps without hanging anything.
This basically executes a "kill -USR2 $PID". Does anyone know if this
can be done on Solaris 8 manually (kill vs init script) since the init
script on solaris 8 doesn't have a reload option.

:wq!
