Intel Solaris 2.5.1 and Perl 5.6.1

I'm having problems compiling Perl 5.6.1 on my Intel Solaris 2.5.1 box. I've
already installed a new "make" program and gcc 2.95.3. But, when I run "make
test" in my perl build directory (which is different than my perl source
directory), there are two test scripts that fail. The first one is
"pragma/locale FAILED at test 0" and "lib/syslog FAILED 4-6". Doing a
harness, the results tell me that the locale script core dumps and the syslog
fails 3 of 6 tests and 50% is Okay.

I've made sure that the correct "make" is in my path and that the program is
using the gcc compiler. Any other suggestions? Could I be missing a library
or could it be that one of my libraries is too old, or could it be my PATH? I
have no idea what to try so any suggestion is appreciated.

Thanks,

John
