script to change a parameter globally

Hi...

I would like to check with all of you about changing a parameter globally
viz.
for all the files in a volume. If anyone has the script, pls. let me know.
We need
to use it when we do a refresh of filesystem for oracle apps. 11i. It has a
lot
of hardcoding of hostname and other port numbers.
