sendmail (8.12) makemap compilation with DNEWDB (solaris 2.8)

Hi,
 
   I have installed sendmail 8.12 on solaris2.8.

   But during the process of access database creation,
i am getting following error

# makemap hash /etc/mail/access.db < /etc/mail/access
  makemap: Need to recompile with -DNEWDB for hash
support

 I have already installed the BerkeleyDB.4.0 in home
directory instead of path: /usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.0

 Now if someone can suggest me like what file i need
to modify for the recompilation of makemap and how to
recompile.

 Any kind of pointers will be great.
