NFS client and cltoomany errors

Hi,

does anyone know how to adjust client side of NFS
in order get rid of cltoomany errors ?
This happens both on Solaris 7 and 8.
We have a quad CPU box with 4G of memory, but when we are testing and have 2000 processes
read the same small (40k) file in a loop over NFS,
it runs okay at the beginning, but then almost stalls and
nfsstat shows increasing number of cltoomany errors.
