alt boot disk

gurus,

I built an alt boot on one of our server which is a
non mirrored and also not under veritas control.Now
the problem is to sync this disk with the root disk
every day.Can any body help me in achieving this? I
have to install boot block if i have to do a "dd" will
ufsdump and ufsrestore will do?
