Hi everyone,

I have a remote developer that is having problems using vi. The situation is
we have an application that reads a config file for service provider numbers
( 8-9 characters long). It is designed so that the provider number are
entered on one line with a space that seperates each provider. Each group of
providers are seperated with a CR/LF. One provider group has about 600
provider numbers.

When the developer goes to vi the file the add more providers to the single
line, after about 150 provider numbers, vi caused a core dump. Other
developers can use vi on the same file/files and add many provider numbers
and may the single line as long as they want for the most part.

Is that a varible or option that might be causing vi not to be able to hold
more than X-lenght on one line? If so how can it be reset?

Thanks,

Mike Kirkland
