SF6800 (24 CPUs , 48 GB RAM) DUMMY TEST Machine was used to Carry out the
Following Test Exercise :-
Step 1 - Simulated a Load of 500 Users Continuously Running Some Set of SQL
Scripts , the sqlplus Connect Time to Reach SQL> Prompt was About 1.1
Seconds with mincache Veritas mount parameter Existing for the Varitas
(VXFS) $ORACLE_HOME Partition
Step 2 - With the mincache mount parameter Removed from the Veritas (VXFS)
$ORACLE_HOME Partition & also with $ORACLE_HOME in a UFS (Unix file System)
sqlplus Connect Time to Reach SQL> Prompt fell to 0.30 Seconds for BOTH
Cases under the Same Load of 500 users
Step 3 - Installed Oracle in a UFS File system on the LIVE Server (E6500
machine) & sqlplus Connect Time to Reach SQL> Prompt Continues to be About
0.30 Seconds under Full Load of 1200 User's process Connections .
