('binary' encoding is not supported, stored as-is) Thanx to everyone who replied to my query.

I am simulating a class C network in my poc using honeyd in controlled environment to start with. i will be testing the following:

ICMP echo request only scan for 255 hosts
ICMP echo request + TCP port scan (1-1024)
ICMP echo request + UDP port scan (1-1024)
ICMP echo request + TCP + UDP port scan (1-1024)

If i have time, i would repeat the result with port ranges for (1-65535)

I am simulating 5 routing hops between the scanner machine and the class C network to be scanned with varying latency and bandwidth.

Also i will be carrying out tests for nmap performance on - single CPU vs multi cpu machines (nmap hosts), varying the number of child(s) to be forked.

If anyone is intrested in the results, do drop in a mail to me and i can try to send you my test results.

Cheers and thanx once again for your inputs
Tarun
