Hi,
does anyone know of an efficient way to discover a complete network
tree starting from a root node. i have a network where i want to add
clients to intermediate servers at will , and i want the superserver
to discover the complete tree with the hierarchy.
the config i have is something like this
superserver
intermediate server intermediate server
client client client client client client client clientclient client
the network is to be scalable at the intermediate and client level.
also it is imperative that the superserver be able to maintain a
record of which client is connected to which intermediate server.
tried nmap, but that only worked for directly connected systems.
As far as my thinking takes me, i'd have to create a packet format,
which when recognised by the intermediate server would trigger a
recursive creation of similar packets. but this may not be feasible in
terms of efficiency. Any thoughts?
