Radware Defense Pro is good product, it's based on a powerful ASIC platform
(3gbit app.sec., 44gbit backplane speed). management is java based and it
can be use like visio. (Configware Insite). also the pro version of
ConfigwareInsite is cool. (www.radware.com)
Intrushield Management is requires powerful platform, (recommended memory
2gb) even you have good server, management software is a little slow
(java&apache based)

Checkpoint Interspect is also interesting product (based on CP
SmartDefense). it is very useful for using between LAN segments.(the new
version of interspect -NGX- has a unique specialities.)

RE: IPS comparison

TippingPoint is signature based, catches want is known to be bad.
Top Layer is Firewall based, blocks transactions at L3, L4 and L7.
Intrushield (Mcafee) is a combination of both. Top Layer has great
clustering and performance, Mcafee and TippingPoint have good
centralized management capabilities.

Assunto: IPS comparison

I have been tasked with comparing IPS appliances. I am
seriously looking at top layer's product line and
tipping point. Does anyone have a spreadsheet or know
of any tool they would be willing to share for
comparing products. Im new to this so any help would
be appreciated
thank you
