Well, you have a number of suggestions here...think about this, you're
doing a PEN test, right? Or are you doing a vulnerability scan? If
it's the former, PEN is short for PENetration. Can you get in? If you
can't get in, then it seems like you should save your highest issue in
your report for something where you can get in. You might give a
recommendation that this isn't the brightest idea...ok, I agree with
that but don't go and give it your highest bad mark if you can't own the
box. In fact, what would you give a "non SSL" VNC connection, how about
a box with Terminal Services available. What about an IIS server where
you can get to a command prompt? ...or maybe an RPC DCOM vulnerability?

Subject: Ultra VNC-3DES-is it secure

hi hackers,
I am doing a VA/PT for one our client and found one of the servers is
using Ultra VNC. The ports (5800 & 5900) are open to Internet. Is it
secure against Man in the middle attack?
Do I need to report this as a CRITICAL/HIGH security issue..

Thanks & Rgds.
