For Linux try http://ipw3945.sourceforge.net/
and
http://tomoyo.sourceforge.jp/cgi-bin/lxr/source/drivers/net/wireless/ipw2100.c
or http://www.promethos.org/lxr/http/source/drivers/net/wireless/ipw2100.c
also I think that the drivers that come with Backtrack 2 allows
capturing in promiscuous mode.

For windows you can try wildpackets omnipeek as I think it's the only
app that will allow you to capture packets in promiscuous mode from an
Intel 3945 card.
