Hi.

Not sure if it is applies for you case, but there was an option for
John The Ripper:

    --stdout[=LENGTH]
When used with a cracking mode, except for "single crack", makes John
print the words it generates to stdout instead of cracking. While
applying wordlist rules, the significant password length is assumed
to be LENGTH, or unlimited by default.

Why you do not want to use some script for this task?
