Helix and Backtrack are x86 LiveCD distributions. They will not run on
SPARC hardware, which is what I assume the target architecture to be.

Either one would have to recompile and rebuild the ISO(s) for SPARC
architectures, or remount the disks to be wiped in a SCSI-equipped Intel
system and perform the operation there.

Why not just boot to a forensic distro like Helix or BackTrack and let
"wipe" run for X passes, or do something like dd if=/dev/urandom
of=/dev/sda && dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda . . .
